About Freekey Zekey

Ezekiel Giles, better known as Freekey Zekey, is an rapper and music executive hailing from Harlem. He co-founded The Diplomats, a hip-hop group formed in 1997, alongside his childhood friend Jim Jones and his cousin Cam'ron.

Initially serving as a hype man, Zekey’s distinctive ad-libs and name shouts became integral to the group’s performances. He also showcased his talent by writing and performing skits for Diplomat) mixtapes and Cam'ron’s albums. However, in February 2004, he faced legal troubles and was sentenced to 35 to 42 months in prison. During his incarceration, he focused on refining his rap skills and crafting his own songs.

Following his release from prison in November 2006, Freekey wasted no time and inked a contract with Asylum Records to release his debut album Book of Ezekiel. This highly anticipated project featured appearances from fellow Diplomats members, including Cam'ron, Jim Jones and Juelz Santana. Book of Ezekiel achieved success, peaking at number 23 on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums chart.

As The Diplomats disbanded in 2007, Freekey Zekey ventured into creating his own label known as 730 Dips, while also joining Jim Jones' newly formed collective ByrdGang.
