About Frida Hyvönen

Anna Frida Amanda Hyvönen, a songwriter and artist, born 30 December 1977 in Robertsfors, the North West of Sweden, or “Västerbotten” in Swedish.
Her origin is important to her; Sweden is a country with great variety in it’s landscape and people, swede’s have a tendency to call everything north of Stockholm “Norrland” ( “North Land”) with a bit of a top-down attitude, at least historically treating people from the north like less; hillbillies if you like.
Her surname is Finnish, from her paternal grandfather who was from Finland.

Hyvönen’s first six albums is recorded on various labels, in a popish singer-songwriter style, and in English.
“Kvinnor och barn” is her first album in Swedish, and earned her 2 Grammis Awards at it’s release in 2016.
