Future of the Left

About Future of the Left

From the ashes of Post-hardcore pioneers, Future of the Left was formed in 2005 by Mclusky frontman Andrew (Falco) Falkous and drummer Jack (Jack) Egglestone with Kelson Mathias (of Mclusky contemporary, Jarcrew) on bass and backing vocals.

2006 saw their debut record, Curses, on the Too Pure label (although later 4AD following TP’s closure in 2008), and from there the trio continued from where both bands left off (albeit with additional notes and/or instruments).

Since 2013, FotL albums have been funded and released independently (with the help of fan donations). This method has also has been taken with Falco’s addition to FotL, Christian Fitness, which has been pumping out yearly albums since 2014 (pretty neat).

Kelson was replaced by former Million Dead bassist Julia Ruzicka in 2010, she’s great too.
