About Galla

Michael Galla was born in 1972 in Bochum-Wattenscheid in Germany’s Ruhrpott area. He started making music with Pahel in a group called Filo Joes.
They teamed up with another rap group from the Ruhrpott area, Raid, which consisted of rapper Aphroe and producer Mr. Wiz. Together, they formed the Ruhrpott A.G. aka R.A.G..
They released their debut album “Unter Tage” in 1999. The album is widely considered a classic in german rap music history.
After the group’s debut album, Filo Joes released a 12" called “Lowbudget / Trashtalk”, and in 2001, R.A.G. released their second and last album “P.O.T.T.E.N.T.I.A.L.”.
After that, Galla moved to Berlin and opened up a fashion store. In 2005, he released his solo debut called “Swingkid”, produced entirely by Tre the Boy Wonder, then called Illfated Tre. After moving back to Bochum, Galla died in 2011.
