Gangsta Blac

About Gangsta Blac

Gangsta Blac, a notable Memphis MC affiliated with the Three 6 Mafia clique, gained local fame in the mid-‘90s. Influenced by 8Ball & MJG and the Geto Boys, his music blends gritty gangsta rap with Southern flair and Dirty South beats. Originally from South Memphis, Gangsta Blac spent his early years in Atlanta, raised by his grandmother after his mother’s passing and his father’s departure.

As a member of Three 6 Mafia, he contributed to the group’s early success before venturing into a solo career in the mid-‘90s. His albums “Breakin Da Law” (1994) and “Can It Be?” (1996), produced by DJ Paul & Juicy J, garnered local acclaim but led to a parting of ways due to financial disagreements. In the early 2000s, his hit single “S.O.U.T.H. Parkway” expanded his influence beyond Memphis.
