Hands

About Hands

Hands is a Christian post-metal/metal band from Fargo, North Dakota. Founded in 2007 by Shane Ochsner, Ian Johnson, Chris Schwartz and Josh Silbernagel, Hands released three full-length albums and one EP before disbanding in 2011. Their break-up was a friendly one, caused primarily due to the distance between where the band members lived at that point in their lives. Shane Ochsner would later go on to found post-metal/post-hardcore band, Everything In Slow Motion, while Josh Silbernagel would go on to found alt. rock/pop band, Glower.

In 2017, Hands announced that they were reuniting to release a two-track EP (New Heaven, New Earth) and that they would play a show at Facedown Fest 2017 for Facedown Records' 20th anniversary.

Frontman, guitarist, writer and lyricist Shane Ochsner has stated that Hands will not be an active touring band again, and that they won’t be releasing albums on a regular schedule, but that they may release material in the future if they feel they are able to and have reason to.
