AKA: Harry M. Woods, Harry MacGregor Woods, and Harry Woods (2)

About Harry Woods

Henry McGregor Woods (1896-1970) was a relatively unheralded songwriter of Tin Pan Alley, a few of whose songs has outstripped his others. Though he was born with a deformed left hand, his mother still insisted he take piano lessons. He turned to writing songs as part of his World War I service, and composed some major hits of the era. Unlike his fellow American songwriters, he spent time in Britain writing songs for the film industry there. He abruptly retired in 1945.
