The Indian Performing Right Society Limited, or IPRS is a Performance rights organisation of India. IPRS licenses music on the behalf of original authors (composers/songwriters), publishers and pays royalties to all the respective owners of the copyright.
IPRS was established on 23rd August 1969. Mr. Javed Akhtar is the current chairman of the organisation.
