Jeremy John Irons (born 19 September 1948) is an English actor. Breaking through in Shakespearian theatre in the 1970s, he crossed the Pond to make his Broadway debut in Tom Stoppard’s The Real Thing, which earned him a Tony Award for Best Actor. Irons has since completed the “Triple Crown of Acting”, winning an Oscar for Reversal of Fortune (1990) and an Emmy for Elizabeth I (2005).
