Kensuke Kawamura is a Japanese Music Video Director. Born in 1965, Kawamura graduated from Tokyo University of Foreign Studies with a bachelor’s degree in English and American Studies. He has directed numerous works including commercials, music videos, and live performances. He has directed over 100 commercials, including Coca-Cola, Nikon, JTB, Shiseido and Asahi Beer.
Kawamura has directed music videos for many popular Japanese artists such as Southern All Stars, Fishmans, ARASHI, Kumi Koda, Namie Amuro, Lisa, Gesu no Kyokumi-Otome, and GLIM SPANKY.
In 2012, the music video of “Love Story” by Namie Amro, directed by Kawamura, won the Best Female Artist Video Award at MTV Video Music Awards Japan. Amuro’s “Hide & Seek,” also directed by Kawamura, has won Best Female Video award at SPACE SHOWER MUSIC AWARDS and Best R&B Video award at MTV Video Music Awards Japan in 2008.
