Leaf Ward, West Philly born and raised, is a zealous rap beast that grinds like his future depends on it. Grinding to get what he and his family wants and needs, grinding up any beat, grinding you up a shit-talking battle, and grinding up any freestyle. Leaf Ward is a man of honor to his values, his day ones and of course, his hustle. His music style is based around his reality of making a way from a way that led no where. The build up in many of his songs is contemplative of his path to notoriety and expression of what is to come. From his first project On My Own Pt. 1 “Intro” squints at his world view and previews the energy for the rest of the project. Trench Baby EP only four songs long, is a sampler, for anyone looking. It features a compilation of different flows and topics including a more poignant song “My Friend (Letter to Jah and Baby). Leaf Ward is now on On My Own Pt. 2 and we’ve seen him sell out shows in New Orleans and other popular cities and grab mentions from artists like Meek Mill and PnB Rock.
