L'Homme Run

About L'Homme Run

L'Homme Run was a rap project of Ezra Factory (born Koenig), Andrew Kalaidjian, and Chris Tomson pre-Vampire Weekend while attending Columbia University. A la later puns like those in “Diane Young”, L'Homme Run is supposed to mean “home run” in French, but “l'homme” actually means “the man”. Many L'Homme Run hooks and melodies were later worked into Vampire Weekend songs, including “Giving Up the Gun.”

At a Young Lions event at the New York Public Library in March 2010, Koenig explained that he is “a factory that produces Ezra, because I’m so hot, but also that I’m a factory of cool rhymes.”
