About Roderick Ford

Roderick Ford was born in Swansea, Wales. and has travelled extensively, gaining experiences that have informed his work. He has lived in Australia, England, and the Persian Gulf. Undiagnosed Aspergers Syndrome resulted in years of medication — a condition not well understood at the time — until the early 1990s. Then, free of tranquillisers, he moved to Paris and began writing poetry.

He continued to travel until he visited Ireland in 1999 and decided to make it his permanent home.
Ford’s poetry has been deeply affected by his autism, in which solitary, outsider figures, sometimes only partly human, are excluded from normal human relationships.

His two poetry collections are ‘Shoreline of Falling’ (Bradshaw Books, 2005), and ‘The Green Crown’ (Bradshaw Books, 2010). Individual poems have also been successful in competitions. He currently lives in Dublin.
