About Scott Kannberg

Christopher Scott Kannberg is the co-founder of Pavement with Stephen Malkmus in 1989. It was originally conceived of as a purely studio-based project.

After Pavement ended in 1999, Kannberg formed a new band called Preston School of Industry. He put a 2001 EP, Goodbye to the Edge City, a 2001 album All This Sounds Gas and a 2004 album Monsoon.

Since 2009, Kannberg has been recording under the studio name he had adopted when he founded Pavement, Spiral Stairs. He has put out two albums: 2009’s The Real Feel and 2017’s Doris & The Daggers.
