Indie pop duo, Skinnydip, is comprised of childhood friends, Alessandro Buccellati and Jon Hill. The two grew up together in New York and in the fall of 2017, moved to Los Angeles. Their first release, Call It Off, features silky-pop vocals from Claire Brooks. The collaboration seems to find a happy medium between commercial and indie – fusing Skinnydip’s crisp-analog, heavily-guitar oriented sound along with luscious hook’s from Brooks'. Hill and Buccellati cite a diverse group of musical influences including the likes of Electric Light Orchestra, Led Zeppelin, Tame Impala, and MGMT while also adhering to an 80’s synth-esc timbre familiar to French Pop-Rock group, Phoenix.
