Steve Montano, also known by his stage name, Steve, Righ?, is the guitar and backing vocalist in the electropunk band Mindless Self Indulgence.
Montano began using his stage name after someone asked him, “You’re Steve, righ?” slurring the last word.
He met Jimmy Urine and played guitar on Jimmy’s 1955 project, Mindless Self Indulgence. He was also featured in a side project with Jimmy, “The Left Rights,” producing numerous short songs. Mantano also co-wrote quite a few songs with Jimmy Urine, including Dick Are for My Friends, Z, Whipstickagostop, and Seven-Eleven. He performed backing vocals on Frankenstein Girls Will Seem Strangely Sexy.
He is married to Lucina and has a daughter, Violet Montano. He has had two surgeries, as the first was insuccessful, on his hip. During his time hospitalized in 2004, Tub Ring filled in for him.
