Super Furry Animals

About Super Furry Animals

The Super Furry Animals are a Welsh indie/alt-rock band that were formed in 1993. They have released nine studio albums, four of which reached the top 10 in the UK charts. While their early sound was rooted in punk rock and ‘60s psychedelia, they later went on to incorporate electronic influences into their sound. The SFA are notable for having songs in both English and Welsh languages, bravely releasing an album exclusively consisting of Welsh songs, Mwng, in 2000.

The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist, Gruff Rhys, lead guitarist and vocalist Huw Bonford, bass guitarist Guto Pryce, synthesiser and keyboardist Cian Ciaran, drummer and vocalist Dafydd Leuan, and at an early stage actor Rhys Ifans.
