underscores (also known as April Harper Grey) is an electronic musician based in San Francisco, and member of music collective six impala. underscores began composing and recording music when she was six years old. She also collaborates with SCRIPT as curryrice.

In 2021, she released her debut album, fishmonger, which features a variety of different genres, such as indie rock, bedroom pop and ambient music. Later on that year she released a sequel to fishmonger, titled boneyard aka fearmonger.

In 2023, underscores announced the start of a new era of music called Wallsocket. The album was inspired by a fictional town in Michigan that is part of an ongoing ARG she created.
