W.D. Snodgrass

About W.D. Snodgrass

One of the founding members of confessional poetry, William Dewitt Snodgrass has won the 1960 Pulitzer Prize for his collection Heart’s Needle(1959). He has a master’s degree in Arts and another one in Fine Arts. He has taught in multiple distinguished universities and published seventeen poetry books, before retiring in 1994 to publish two more. His final book, Not for Specialists, was published in 2006–three years before his death.
