About Will Rogers

Born in the Cherokee Nation, Will Rogers (1879-1935) became the most famous Oklahoman of his time, entertaining crowds as a newspaper columnist, performing cowboy, and actor on stage and film. In his various capacities, his homespun sense of humor and gentle satire won over crowds across America and the world. He died at the height of his fame when his plane crashed outside Point Barrow, Alaska.
