I’m not feeling some of those comments people left at the bottom of the article

^ Im really feeling this one below

“That website is a joke if u didn’t get the info from the rapper him or herself u cant sit her and call yourself explaining to the world what that rapper meant. Some of the songs are self explanatory some if u really wanted to know requires research.

the daily mail is bottom of the barrel. the people that read it generally tend to be the same. that might explain some of the comments.

Some of the comments were made by people who are biased and do not know much about Hip Hop (and btw, it’s not “rap”! ITS HIP HOP!)

“Once the average person can hear the words and realizes how menial and self-centered the lyrics are, it will lead to the end of Rap. That is a great idea!”

Most hip-hop songs contain bad language, yep, that is true. Still, hip-hop has brought different races together. Hip Hop has been stunning us with deep meanings and great use of rhymes in its songs since the beginning of hip-hop, and it will continue to do so.

“So how is this any different from the 100s of Websites which translate local dialects and slang?”

“It’s just a ghetto thug dictionary!”

Let me say this : In terms of business, a market gap has been filled, mudda fukkka. Rap Genius is the first of its kind.

Dude, it is called rap still…
Rap = Rhyming
Hip Hop = rap, grafitti, break dance and djing

Bottom line, to all of you who think rap and hip hop is different stuff. Just shut up already!

Songs are just about “rap”. Yes they are rap songs, but they are part of hip hop, since rap is a part of hip hop.

Not everybody likes rap but some people create grafitti, they break dance and DJ. This is a part of hip hop. Rap doesnt include these things above.

How the fuck is RG a “ghetto thug dictionary” when we have Martin Luther King, Jr, Robert Frost, Voltaire, Barack Obama, and Abraham Lincoln?

Since when wasn’t the name of this website RAPgenius?
I don’t see how that would be relevant at all…

“Bottom line, to all of you who think rap and hip hop is different stuff. Just shut up already!”

Are you implying that Rap and Hip Hop are exactly the same?

I know Hip Hop songs are called Rap songs. I might have been mistaken when I said “its not rap, its hip hop” but I cannot agree with you.

And dont appeal to authority, this website would have been HipHopGenius if it also had explanations for other elements of hip hop and btw, rap is one of the elements of hip hop.
