I think I was two or three years old.

The first song i remember that actually got me interested in the genre was Eminem — Without me

50 Cent — In Da Club

50 Cent’s In Da Club

Eminem — Slim Shady

looks like he got most of us into hip-hop

When I was in 6th grade I accidentally stumbled onto BET and watched the entire video for What You Know by T.I. and I was hooked into hip hop after that.

Mine was either without me by eminem or ghost by tupac

‘03 Bonnie and Clyde by Jay-Z and Beyonce

The first Rap song I heard that stayed with me in some way was “Crossroads” by Bone Thugs..must of been somewhere between 5-6 yrs old when I saw the music video at a babysitter’s house.

Never crossed my mind again until 5 or 6 years later when a friend tried to stump me by playing the song and somehow the memory instantly came back to me.

Didn’t get interested in Rap until I first heard “Real Slim Shady” on the radio when I was like 9 or 10 though…go figure

^ The first song I purchased on iTunes was ‘03 Bonnie and Clyde, after seeing that Chris Rock movie (Head of State?) and it was featured in it.

The first rap song I heard was probably something on The Eminem Show…that shit was fuckin classic

Damn this thread just goes to show how young and white we are smh…

Hey ya! — Outkast

The Real Slim Shady, when I was like 4. I’m 16 right now.

Eminem when he dropped Relapse.
I was in like the 5th or 6th grade and I saw an LA Times article talking about Em’s return to music and I listened to Relapse and loved it.
After that I started listening to a lot of other stuff, Mos Def, NWA, Charles Hamilton. Wasn’t until like last year that I started getting into DOOM, Deltron, Kanye, etc.

Till I Collapse, way back when.

The first hip-hop song I recall hearing is “Up Jumps The Boogie” by Timabaland and Magoo, featuring Aaliyah and Missy Elliot.

beastie boys or cypress hill when i was like 6 some old shit , at least thats what i remember

California Love, shits still dope

Maestro Fresh Wes — Let Your Backbone Slide (1989).

But no, I am not that old. It was either that track or Swollen Members — Fuel Injected.

SNOOP DOGG — GIN & JUICE

I GREW UP ON “THE BOX”!!!! REAL MUSIC TELEVISION, I CALLLED UP AND ORDERED EVERYTHING “BONE THUGS & HARMONY”, “2PAC & SNOOP”, “PUFF DADDY, BIGGIE & MASE”,“NAS”,“COMMON” ETC !!!!

THE GOOD OL'DAYS

Borrowed my brothers ipod and clicked on “Sucka Nigga” out of curiosity

Pretty sure I been hearing hip hop since before I had memories.

Stronger by Yeezy when I was in 4th grade

Lose yourself — eminem that was like crazy mainstream all over the radios. i was a beatles fan back than so Em was just another mainstream artist for me. Jay-z’s Black Album was the first record i got that got me going in hip hop

Mind playing Tricks on Me by Geto Boys when i was like 8. That crazy soul sample had me phonkin hard boiii

yea

I was about 5 or 6 watching Land Before Time and “Real Slim Shady” came on the radio and I remember falling in love. That day will always be etched in my cranium. I even remember going along with it on some words a couple months later and my mother reprimanding me. Good times

I heard a lot of hip hop growing up (in the radio, etc), but when I REALLY got into it was when I heard Just Lose It when it was released! I copped Encore straight away, then got TES, then MMLP, and since then I’ve been listening to rap religiously!

Eminem-The Real Slim Shady
