This verse is Chi-Ali’s first appearances since being released following a 12 year murder bid. His Easter Cave was the penitentiary. It remains to be seen if the impact of his release upon the world approaches that of the resurrection of Christ.

too many hatin, he’s still more relevant than many, we loved Chi then, and love him now…just cause who he is, now his flow, his style charismatic, it’s breath of fresh air from all this nonsense called music today…at the end of the day, he’s eye candy, and he got the females, before he even open his mouth , like Pac…hatin is a disease. Skyzoo is saying he idolized Chi Ali, and seen him go to prison on that TV screen, so the whole song is, homage for doin the bid, comin home ready to get back in it…and he know if he never seen Chi, rap, and go to jail, he would’ve been in prison too, and his momma made sure, he remember Chi, goin' to jail, and that prevented him from goin, now his momma is happy he is an artist… 1timeup4ChiAli

Explains the dichotomy of Skzyoo’s world. The publishing checks come from the success that he has achieved, while the jail letters hint at what very possibly could have been his destiny growing up.

This is what the arabber (who Dukie is working with) says to Dukie during the scene mentioned in the previous line. Probably something he wants to grab and attempt to sell.

The dream in this context is Dukie gettin a proper education so that he could have a chance at makin something of his life, but Prezbo quickly sees that this ain’t gon happen because he can recognize the addict(bein that he was a former cop) who’s askin Dukie how much he got from his old teacher and is rushin to the tester spot to sample the new package with him. This makes Prezbo realize that Dukie is gonna end up jus like his crack-fiend mentor

“Testers” are free samples of drugs that they give to addicts before a new package is put out. It’s basically advertising the quality of a new package. Which was done during the start of “The Wire” Series. The street is called Poplar Grove, not “Popular”

Skyzoo continues the use of the lyrics of his idols with this cleaned up version of a gem from Nas' “Watch Dem Niggas”:

I got no game, it’s just some bitches understand my story

They don’t have to pop a bunch of slick shit to bag women, it’s just their natural aura.

The lyric reads “buzz-killer” (not a reference to “boss”), because he was cheering for and bet on the Bulls.

And he doesn’t miss the chance to use a metaphor — Olajuwon post — referencing the former NBA player so revered for his post-moves, that he now teaches current players, most famously Kobe and LeBron, how to improve their post moves.

"Y'all hear my shit go, it's Andre / Can yo punk ass come ..." (Outkast – Ain't No Thang) | accepted
