Burn like a chariot

from The Roots (Ft. Black Thought & John Legend) – The Fire Lyrics on Rap Genius

I don’t think a chariot (ancient, horse powered, vehicle) burns in any significant way

Black Thought is probably referencing the movie Chariots of Fire, or the William Blake poem from which it got its name:

Bring me my Bow of burning gold;
Bring me my Arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

Alternatively this could also refer to the Greek sun god Helios, who rode a chariot which was pulled by flaming horses
