Fuck going platinum
I looked at my wrist and it's already platinum
In an interview with Jet magazine he says
I bought a platinum Rolex, which is something I’ve always wanted. Everybody raps about Rolex — it’s such a fixture in hip-hop music. But only a certain amount of people can get the platinum one… The gold one is a staple, and I had that when I first started; I just always said to myself, ‘Yo I wanna be able to get that platinum one and not have to worry about the price.’ I finally was able to get it this year.
This could be interpreted as another Kendrick shot. The attention Kendrick got from his “Control” verse helped him finally achieve platinum for good kid, m.A.A.d city in Aug. 2013 — about 10 months after it was released. Drake, on the other hand, is downplaying the significance of achieving platinum by saying that in the time it takes to look at his watch, it — NWTS — will have already gone platinum.
