The way Salt shoops and how they sell records like Snoop, (oops!)

from The Notorious B.I.G. – Somebody Gotta Die Lyrics on Rap Genius

Meaning

Biggie’s thinking about Salt from Salt ‘n’ Pepa. “Shoop” was a sexual song they did. Biggie’s also had other “dreams” riffing on similar themes.

Big then name-drops Snoop Dogg in reference to the success of his debut album Doggystyle, which went quadruple platinum by mid-1994. Despite the East Coast-West Coast beef, Biggie was still willing to give props to a fellow rapper he respected (the “oops” is because he technically shouldn’t be shouting out a West Coast rapper).
