I don't worry, I tell you
I am a man who believed that I died 20 years ago
And I live like a man who is dead already
I have no fear whatsoever of anybody or anything

Meaning

In Manning Marable’s recent biography of Malcolm, Malcolm X: A Life of Reinvention, he gives evidence that Malcolm repeatedly chose a danger-fraught path to fight for social justice in America.

He made several trips to northern and western Africa, each time going back to America to fight racial injustice. All the while, he knew that Africa would be a place of safe refuge for him, protecting him from danger. He also knew that his violent death would eventually if he returned to America.

So, in that sense, Malcolm was, indeed, a dead man; he knew how and where he would die.
