Every time I make a run, girl, you turn around and cry
Every time the drug pusher tells his girlfriend that he has to make a drug run (which usually is a long period of time), his girl cries because she’s going to miss him.
She cries not just because he will be gone for a long period of time, but in this trade there’s a reasonable expectation that one will NOT come back at all (ie. death). A “run” involves transporting a larger than usual amount of illegal narcotics from a farther than usual location.
