[Verse: Amanda Fondell]
Breath in, blow out
Just like a hurricane
Rebel, riot
Call us whatever name
Surface, sisters
Erase the barricades
Oh, oh-oh, erase them barricades!
Breath in, blow out
Just like a hurricane
Rebel, riot
Call us whatever name
Surface, sisters
Erase the barricades
Oh, oh-oh, erase them barricades!
[Bridge]
The barricade, the barricade
Barricade
The barricade, the barricade
Barricade
The barricade, the barricade
Barricade
Get up, get up
Erase the barricade

About

Genius Annotation

“Barricade”, now just from Axwell without Ingrosso, was given its official unveiling at Ultra Music Festival in 2015 and has been a staple of their sets ever since. It is as powerful a track as Axwell has ever released, even during his Swedish House Mafia days.
It got released on March 3rd, 2016 by Axtone Records, Axwell’s own label.

“Barricade” is built like a pyramid. It starts out with some hallow snares and inspiring vocals said in a robotic tone: “We are the future live today, get up erase the barricade”.

Then the second minute of the build introduces more elements, like the short, pitched piano shots and the grinding bass going along with a still clean and powerful kick underneath.

Things start to get going with a robotic guitar sound coming in to join these other elements for a short, before the track completely switches styles and tempos into a trap interlude.
