This song about the exploitation of fashion and pornographic models was released prior to the existence of MTV. Thus, the promotional music video featured the band surrounded by scantily clad and nude women. When MTV began airing only months later an agreement was struck that the fledgling video network would place the Girls on Film in the rotation if the nudity was removed. On the other side of the pond, the BBC straight up banned the video.
