About

Genius Annotation

This is a poem/rap about the character Hamlet and his foil Fortinbras from William Shakespeare’s play “Hamlet” done for an English project. The poem focuses on the theme of action vs inaction. Hamlet represents inaction, for he constantly rationalizes any possible action he can take to the point that he does nothing. Conversely, Fortinbras represents action. He responds immediately to the situations presented to him with a plan. Towards the end of the play, Hamlet learns from Fortinbras and eventually takes action in order to avenge his father.
