M1 A1 Lyrics

[Verse 2: 2-D]
M1 A1
Thousand miles an hour
Gorillaz with the beat, ya'll
So in went the seller

[Verse 3: 2-D]
We go, M1 A1
It's a thousand miles an hour
Gorillaz with the bass drum
Keep that sound

[Bridge: 2-D]
Wake it out, check it out, 2001 craze...
D'ya hear that?
I said, M1 A1

[Chorus: 2-D]
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-hey
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-hey
La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-hey
La-la-la-la-la-la-wow!

[Outro]
"Hello?"

About

Genius Annotation

M1 A1 is the final track (excluding bonus tracks) from the Gorillaz debut album. The song features a heavier rock sound to it, making it a rather special track to some.

The song samples some of the music from the horror film Day of the Dead as written by John Harrison. This is the first song to sample music from a zombie film, a theme which would show up several times throughout Gorillaz' work, including the “Intro” from the album Demon Days, as well as the name of the group Jamie Hewlett put together to help with the artwork, which was Zombie Flesh Eaters.

This song was played as many of the openers on the Humanz tour in 2017 through 2018.
