Party at the Top of the Hill Lyrics

We're the JJ Boys on the microphone stand
Kickin' it live with a Faygo in our hand
Master T is on the table, not working in the stable
And on his Adidas jacket is the Faygo label

This part of the rhyme is for Jagged Joe
Known to the crew as the leader of the show
All my girlie friends chase me down the hall
I don't smoke dope or drink alcohol!

This part of the rhyme is for Kangol Joe
When I'm on the mike I steal the show
Kangol on my head, Adidas on my feet
Gold around my neck so that I look like Mr. T

This nеxt part is for Master J
I rock all night 'cause I sleep all day
I'm always drinkin' Faygo and that's a fact
And if you got beef, bettеr change your act

Genius Annotation

This song’s lyrics are written in Violent J’s 2003 autobiography, Behind the Paint, which also has a description of the song in the book’s discography:

This song was never for sale, and was the first ever recorded material by Joe, Joey, and John, rapping as the JJ Boys. There were only a few cassettes made, and they are assumed to be lost forever. The names of the JJ boys were as follows: Joe Bruce (Violent J) was Jagged Joe, Joey Utsley (Shaggy 2 Dope) was Kangol Joe, and John Utsler (Kickjazz) was Master J.

They called themselves the JJ boys at the time because all of their first names start with J, including Joey’s friend Jay, who isn’t mentioned in the song. According to Behind the Paint, Jay knew someone named “Scratchmaster T” who owned a four-track tape recorder, which was used to record this song.

In the 2016 audiobook recording of Behind the Paint, Violent J rapped this song, although he changed a few of the lines to be in the third person.

Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope also attempted to rap the song from memory during a Patreon-exclusive livestream in 2021.
