Genius Annotation

MTV’s “Service Station” bumper was one of many 10-second idents played on the network in 1983. It was produced by Alan Goodman and Fred Seibert and animated by Colossal Pictures

The bumper shows the MTV logo at a service station filling up a TV with MTV gasoline. The TV is showing other bumpers Colossal made for MTV. It is intended to be an homage to classic service station commercials with similar jingles to the one in this ident.
