Grand Mixer DXT: The first DJs with equipment and speakers were the TNT Disco in the Edenwald Projects in the Bronx. A guy named Tony O'Gara, and a another guy that we referred to as Fat Tommy, and so it was TNT Disco. They were the first DJs, or guys who used DJ equipment that I had ever seen. But from that point, we started hearing about this guy Kool Herc, who obviously Tony O'Gara and Fat Tommy were already into that so they were tryna copy - and finally one day we went to the Webster Avenue P.A.L. where Kool Herc was performing, and after one night of just watching him play... It changed me, completely. I really said, man, I wanna do that
