SameOldShawn: You had, I think it was a conversation with a jazz player, and then learned something about expanding your palate a little bit

YC the Cynic: Yeah, it was kinda like an argument, even though I never let him know that he won. I kept arguing with him. There was something that really stuck with me, which was just the notion that being clever isn't important just childish in music. In music, being clever is like the least thing. In music, it's about the emotional connection. Then that was my whole thing! My favorite rapper was Cassidy, I wanted to think of new punchlines... To hear that was just like "Shit."

How to Format Lyrics:

  • Type out all lyrics, even repeating song parts like the chorus
  • Lyrics should be broken down into individual lines
  • Use section headers above different song parts like [Verse], [Chorus], etc.
  • Use italics (<i>lyric</i>) and bold (<b>lyric</b>) to distinguish between different vocalists in the same song part
  • If you don’t understand a lyric, use [?]
