In Heaven (The Lady in the Radiator Song) Lyrics
In Heaven
Everything is fine
In Heaven
Everything is fine
[Chorus]
In Heaven
Everything is fine
You got your good thing
And I've got mine
[Pre-Chorus]
In Heaven
Everything is fine
In Heaven
Everything is fine
[Chorus]
In Heaven
Everything is fine
You got your good thing
And I've got mine
[Pre-Chorus]
In Heaven
Everything is fine
In Heaven
Everything is fine
In Heaven
[Chorus]
In Heaven
Everything is fine
You got your good thing
And I've got mine
[Pre-Chorus]
In Heaven
Everything is fine
In Heaven
Everything is fine
About
This song is a cover of the song sung by a character known as “The Lady in the Radiator” in David Lynch’s surrealist horror film Eraserhead. Recalls Black Francis:
All the Pixies went to the movies together. I dragged them down to see Eraserhead ’cause I loved it so much. I had this brilliant idea: “Hey, let’s cover the song from the movie!”
“In Heaven” became a mainstay of their live act – and remained that way for their entire career. The song was first recorded for their “Purple Tape” demo in 1987 – which remained unreleased until 2002. In May 1988, they performed it for a session recorded by famed British DJ John Peel (later released on 1998’s Pixies at the BBC) and a live version was released on the “Gigantic” single later that year.
