Air Catcher (Studio Version) Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I don't fall slow like I used to
I fall straight down
You've stolen my air catcher
That kept me safe and sound

My parachute's what got me
Safely to ground
But now the cord's not working
And I see you staring me down

[Chorus]
I won't fall in
Love with falling
I will try to avoid those eyes

[Verse 2]
I think you would beat the moon in a
Pretty contest
And the moon just happened to be the
Very first thing that I missed

I was doing fine on my own and there
Wasn't much I lacked
But you've stolen my air catcher
And I don't know if I want it back
[Chorus]
I won't fall in
Love with falling
I will try to avoid those eyes

[Post-Chorus 1]
Cause I'm not sure I
Want to give you
Tools that can
Destroy my heart

[Bridge]
And I just don't say what you wanna hear
So I'll write my fears
And I don't believe in talking just to breathe
And falling selfishly

[Chorus]
I won't fall in
Love with falling
I will try to avoid those eyes

[Post-Chorus 2]
But now I'm here to
Give you words as
Tools that can
Destroy my heart

Genius Annotation

This comes from a post made by AlexanderPANASONIC on Reddit:

Aside from Screen, Air Catcher is one of the only Twenty One Pilots songs with multiple known versions. Whether leaked or officially released. Air Catcher has MULTIPLE versions.

There’s the version that appears on self-titled of course, but there was also a studio version released afterward, right before Regional at Best. On YouTube, it is (de facto) referred to as the “Alternate Version,” and sometimes the “Alternative Version.” Some erroneously mistake it to be a ‘leak’ or ‘unreleased’ track, even though it truly was released through the Twenty One Pilots website, alongside “Jar of Hearts"; “Time to Say Goodbye”; and "Slowtown”, “Car Radio”, and “Trees.” This technically makes it an official release on behalf of the band, although never commercially. Which is ironic because the second version was probably produced with a budget and with an intention for profit.

Note that the official title, as designated by the site at the time, was “Air Catcher (STUDIO Version).”
