If the Jags win a game, and nobody is there to see it, did the Jags really win?

I like what Gus Bradley has brought to this team. But, Jacksonville is still one of the most inept franchises in the NFL. I read a report that said if Clowney had fallen to their selection at 3, they would’ve STILL taken Bortles. Bortles is a project, and a HUGE reach at 3. They could’ve traded down and still selected him in the mid-teens.

I really can’t express how much I hate Blake Bortles – as a Viking fan, I vowed to stop rooting for the Vikings if we had drafted him. Skip Bayless had the tweet of the draft night: https://twitter.com/RealSkipBayless/status/464607061868052480

This team was in contention for the #1 overall pick for much of the 2013 season, and I believe they’ll be contending for the #1 pick for much of the 2014 season.

When the NFL schedule was slowly starting to leak, someone on my timeline tweeted “Anyone know the Cowboys schedule?”, and several people replied back “8-8”. Every year it seems the Cowboys are vying for the NFC East crown, only to have Romo throw a pick at the most inopportune time and finish the season a mediocre 8-8.

Not this year. Dallas will be lucky to finish 8-8. The defense is HORRENDOUS, it can’t stop a nosebleed. I will be shocked if this team gets more than 5 wins.

I think this is the year Dallas flops so hard that Jerry Jones will have no choice but to blow it all up and fire everybody – including himself (as GM).

The Raiders had a pretty brutal start to the offseason, but have since enjoyed a solid offseason with the signings of Woodley, Jones-Drew, and Tuck to go with the drafting of Khalil Mack and Derek Carr, who could be their QB of the future.

I still think the Raiders are a few years away, but they’ll competitive in 2014. They won’t win many games, but they’ll be competitive.

The Bucs have had a decent offseason. Lovie Smith was a good hire, Michael Johnson and Josh McCown signings were decent, and the Mike Evans pick at 7 was great value; he was a top 5 talent. I’m not sure Glennon is the long term answer at QB for them, however.

The Bucs unfortunately play in a division with Brees, Cam, and Matt Ryan so I don’t see them making much noise.

The Bills made the right move in trading up for Sammy Watkins; he’s an absolute stud and they had to get weapons for Manuel if they want him to succeed.

Regardless, I think they gave up too much; I don’t think the Bills will be all that competitive in 2014, so they potentially traded away a top 10 pick in 2015.

Everything about this team screams overrated to me. I’m not as big on RG3 as many others are, I think he’s pretty overrated. The DeSean signing was pretty overrated; he’s a one trick pony and a locker room cancer.

If RG3 stays healthy, this team could challenge Philly for the division crown, but that’s a big if.

The Titans have had a very quiet offseason, but they’ve made all the right moves. They will be better off with Chris Johnson, and the Wisenhunt hire was one of the better coaching hires. Of the team’s 9 losses, seven were by single digits and the team started 3-1 when Jake Locker is healthy.

I’m not really expecting much from Tennessee in 2014, but I wouldn’t be shocked if they become a dark horse in a very weak AFC.

Barring a miracle, Miami probably won’t dethrone Brady and the Pats, but they can compete in the weak AFC. They came extremely close to a wildcard spot last year. If Tannehill can be protected, this team has the talent to could compete for a wildcard spot again this year.

Miami’s locker room seems like a huge mess though stemming from the Jonathan Martin fallout; Philbin is a giant dinkus that has no idea what’s going on. Every day it seems like a Dolphin is getting in trouble for their stupid antics off the field. Until Miami can get some front office stability, they won’t be a viable threat in the AFC.

The most Cleveland thing ever: draft the savior of the franchise in Johnny Manziel, only to have it announced less than 24 hrs later that your best player (and Johnny’s #1 target) is looking down the barrel of a yearlong ban.

Regardless, the Browns had one of the best drafts; drafting their potential franchise savior and picking up a first round choice in 2015, but the lack of WR in a very deep WR draft was questionable.

I’m placing Cleveland this low because I don’t expect them to have Gordon for 2014; and because they are the Browns. The Browns D boast a vaunted defense, but besides Jordan Cameron, Johnny really doesn’t have any viable targets. Miles Austin-Jones? Earl Bennett?

Part of me thinks that Manziel will be the savior of the city of Cleveland, not just the Browns. But part of me also feels that because it’s Cleveland, Johnny will tear his ACL after signing his rookie contract and become a bust. Because it’s Cleveland, it’ll probably be the latter; even LEBRON JAMES couldn’t flourish in Cleveland.

I like to think of the Lions as the Browns of NFC; somehow, someway, this team will find a way to shoot itself in the foot and screw themselves over.

The Lions have a lot of talent on both sides of the football, but I don’t like what they’ve done this offseason. They downgraded in Jims; I think Schwartz is a much better coach than Caldwell (who really has no business being a head coach).

I didn’t think their draft helped close the gap on the Pack or Bears either, the biggest winner of the Eric Ebron selection was Aaron Rodgers and Jay Cutler, as they get to annihilate a very porous Detroit secondary. It’s not crazy to think Detroit will be the cellar-dwellars of the NFC North this season.
