There was literally no evidence or studies presented in the article that backs up this claim. There is evidence that even just one meal high in fat puts one at a much greater risk for a heart attack. That doesn’t mean one fatty meal is going to kill you, just that people that are already at risk should be very careful. This graphic below is very easy to feel if you’re a endurance athlete of any sort. Have a meal high in fat the night before a long run or ride and you’ll feel that it’s much harder than if you have a meal low in fat the night before. It’s pretty innate stuff really, but the picture shows exactly how that happens.

In a recent study, Dr. Borge Nordestgaard and colleagues at the University of Copenhagen found out. They followed nearly 12,000 people in Denmark who had established coronary heart disease, diagnosed between 1976 and 2010. The scientists found that each 1 mmol (38.7mg/dl) increase in nonfasting remnant cholesterol caused a nearly 3-fold greater risk of a coronary heart disease event. The increased causal risk of heart disease from elevated cholesterol remnant particles appeared much stronger than for changes in either LDL or HDL levels.

The takeaway from this research on cholesterol remnants is that “no fat, even those low in saturated fat, should be considered a health food,” points out Kimberly Gomer, MS, RD, Director of Nutrition at Pritikin. “All fats, including olive oil, are a highly concentrated source of calories. Consuming too much can lead to weight gain, which in turn can lead to a variety of metabolic disorders that promote heart disease, such as increased insulin resistance and higher levels of LDL cholesterol and triglycerides.”

I mean, that’s not really a surprise. The name alone is a surprise, but Manning was pretty awful last year. They won in spite of him, not because of him.

Almost every fruit is “carb-heavy” and also a whole food, yet Ludwig and the author make no mention of them?

Some very smart people think that the idea that human consciousness is something ethereal and that can be “downloaded” could be a real possibility. If that becomes the case, the flesh puppets that we inhabit now would become obsolete and irrelevant. We would essentially be conscious robots, inhabiting whatever form whose computer we download ourselves onto. In the case that this is possible and that people agree to do it, it would almost certainly need to come with a more robust space program because this planet would get even more crowded if nobody died.

Obligatory disclaimer: I wrote this before continuing to read the rest of the article where they talk about this very idea.

I have come to expect greatness from Alex Turner. Probably his weakest project overall but there are some great tunes, and none that are terrible (obviously). I really don’t care for Miles as a vocalist (or his public persona), but what he adds in his guitar work makes up for it.

Yes, these all came out in 2015 but I didn’t listen to them until this year. There are songs I like on each project, but not a huge fan of any of these.
