At most of the Bernie Sanders rallies or events I’ve attended, I can count on my hands how many other black faces I saw.

FiveThirtyEight pointed out in July how Bernie could win in Iowa and New Hampshire, thanks in part to his low numbers among nonwhite Democrats.

The trend is still pronounced, the New York Times points out that Clinton has essentially locked up the minority vote, working to

[build a] political firewall across the South in hopes of effectively locking up the Democratic nomination in March regardless of any early setbacks in the Iowa caucuses and the New Hampshire primary.

A politician who doesn’t glad-hand in practically the whitest state – wouldn’t you expect him to have less name recognition than Hillary, a former senator of New York of all places?

Hillary is kept up at night thinking about the black vote, the gay vote, the latino vote, etc.; one does not get the impression of being objectified as such by Sanders. I would think this becomes more apparent once influential endorsements start rolling in?

In fact, he did take on some corporate special interest groups–mainly by adding to their budgets hundreds of million dollars of taxpayer funds.

Repeatedly he has shown his willingness to filibuster/stand up to career politicians, whether it by speaking from his heart or ironically reading Green Eggs and Ham on the Senate floor.
