In eighth grade I remember having the CD From Under The Cork Tree. Fall Out Boy has come a long way since then, releasing multiple albums, going on hiatus, and then ultimately coming back to save rock and roll.
Then came this years American Beauty / American Psycho. It’s clear the band is no longer punk rockers, but full fledged pop stars ready to fill a stadium at any minute. I didn’t take much from this album besides a few singles but it’s always interesting to see how far a band has come.

This happens every year. Big Sean is coming out with a new album or mixtape, and so starts his promotional media campaign. There are promises that this is the best work he’s produced yet, that he’s more focused than ever, that Kanye and Jay-Z are really digging the new project. And then the project actually drops.
I think the sad news here isn’t that Dark Sky Paradise is a bad album. It’s by far Sean’s best work, received positive reviews and sold well in it’s first week. Sean absolutely snaps on the extended version of “Paradise” and goes bar for bar with Kanye on “All Your Fault”. However, as someone who has been a fan of Big Sean for a while the album is underwhelming.
While the production is strong, the second half of the album is best described as forgettable. Songs blend together as one “just ok” track after another plays. Even on the stronger first half of the album, Sean is shadowed by guests like Drake, E-40 and Kanye West. It doesn’t help that a couple of the bonus tracks were better than songs actually on the album. Overall, the album is a step in the right direction but Sean still has a long way to go to fill the shoes he made for himself.

This show is horrible. Even for a scripted MTV drama it’s bad. There is virtually no character development, the plot twists are predictable and the script is just flat.
Going into it the premise seemed pretty interesting and after a couple episodes I thought it had potential. I was horribly wrong.
I wouldn’t suggest this show to anyone. There’s just so many quality TV shows out there, skip this and try something else.
