El-P in ‘99. It’s roster is a who’s who of early 2000’s underground rappers, including Aesop Rock, Cage, the late Camu Tao, Del the Funky Homosapien, and Cannibal Ox.
Strange enough, although the label’s website currently redirects to the website for El-P’s current project Run The Jewels, RTJ is not signed under Def Jux.

BG is a rapper formerly signed to Cash Money Records, both as a solo artist and as a member of Wayne’s group Hot Boys. In 2012 he was sentenced to 14 years in prison for illegal possession of a firearm and conspiracy to obstruct justice. Guess there’s no bad blood over BG leaving Cash Money over finances, huh?
BG is probably best known for writing “Cash Money Is An Army”, which Jay Z paid homage to during his feud with Nas. Wayne also used the line when trying to leave Cash Money over financial disputes.
