In design, a common client cliche is “make it classic and modern” or some other variation of things that make less than a ton of sense together.

This value reminds me of that, since speaking fearlessly often begets temporary enemies. Obviously it’s important to be fearless about stuff that seems important, obviously it’s important to have people like you, and obviously disparate values can be harmonized, but as a single value, this comes off like word magnets scrambled on the fridge.

The mockup is our design currency. This means no wireframes, which might be controversial to some. Wouldn’t it be slow to produce realistic mocks so early?

The answer is yes and no. It definitely can be, especially if the front-end devs need painstakingly detailed user flows, or the designers demand pixel perfect implementations.

But if the designer is writing the code, then mockups don’t need to be extremely detailed. They also don’t need to be perfect, since the designer is confident that the implementation will be equally beautiful if not better than the mocks.
