Time is no restrictive measure for rappers outdoing one another on wax. With his initial Wall Street money + Das Racist funds, it’s not a stretch for this brag to be entirely true. And a quick perusal of his Instagram feed shows a loving family man who wouldn’t hesitate to make this a reality.

A throwback to a line on “Luv It Mayne” from Das Racist’s Sit Down, Man mixtape, “Catch me at the opera with your mama and your poppa”. That line, in turn, played into the band’s running joke of being unable to find one another that began on their initial hit “Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell”. Eat Pray Thug is a serious album, but Heems still knows how to have fun.

These lines sprang to his mind during his Village Voice profile while visiting Flushing’s Hindu Center Temple. Prior to reciting the lines, he offered an exegesis of his affinity for the deity,

This is Shiva…Shiva’s considered the destroyer. People look at the others as regal, morally correct gods. Everything else was put into Shiva. People say he used to eat meat, drink wine, smoke weed. People say he took mushrooms. I like Shiva because he appreciates music and dance. Shiva used to hang with the bottom of society — the vagabonds, the musicians, the prostitutes. Rappers are notorious for their self-fulfilling prophecies. Long before records hit the airwaves, they proclaim that they’ll get massive airplay. See also: the “DJ always play(s) my song(s)” trope.

700 Fill was released on BitTorrent, not the traditional mp3 music marketplaces that artists flock to for profits. Though they’re not getting green directly off the release, the quality is still such to inspire fellow rappers to turn green with envy.
