- Nas had a big feud with fellow New York rapper, Jay Z, started in 2001, when
Jay Z released his diss track, Takeover, which caused Nas to drop what people call today, the best diss track of all time, Ether.
Nas and Jay Z were the biggest rappers in New York back then, so the whole feud was important for both artists.
- While the feud was still alive, Nas' mother, Ann Jones, passed away, in April of 2002.
