Lavell Jones (born September 21, 1991 in Columbus, Georgia) is a multi-talented musician and artist from El Paso, Texas. His musical influences include artists such as Jay-Z, Kanye West, Frank Ocean, Lupe Fiasco, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Lauryn Hill, John Lennon, and Pharrell Williams. He is a solo artist as well as a member of the music collective “Rare Individuals”.
Early on, Lavell’s interests were mainly in writing short plays, stories , and poems. Soon he shifted his focus to writing and playing music. At the age of 7 Lavell taught himself to fluently play the drums, and later the piano.
Lavell began his professional career right after graduating high school. Upon releasing his first studio mixtape entitled “No More Shenanigans” on August 8, 2011, he began to get more exposure and develop a fanbase.
Since then he has done multiple shows at SXSW, Warped Tour, as well as performing & speaking at different college events.
In 2013 Lavell Jones released his follow-up album entitled “SEARCHING…” This, along with plenty of songs released with the Rare Individuals collective helped to place him on stages opening up for Ice Cube, Wu-Tang, G-Eazy, Future, YelaWolf, Tory Lanez, Ab-Soul, Snow Tha Product, Atmosphere and more.
Over the years, Lavell released multiple singles and music videos which all led up to the release of his most recent album, “MEMENTO” on July 13th, 2018. “MEMENTO” has since received praise from fans and critics alike, earning Lavell recognition in articles by El Paso Inc, as well as The City Magazine. Lavell is currently working on several different solo projects as well as collaborations, all of which are scheduled to be released later this year.
