The Ummah was a production group consisting of Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Q-Tip and the late J Dilla (Jay Dee) producing mostly for A Tribe Called Quest’s albums Beats, Rhymes, and Life and The Love Movement. They also produced and remixed songs for Busta Rhymes, Mariah Carey, Jon B, Common, and The Roots among others.
