Victor Charlie (or VC) is what they called the Vietnamese during the war. “Charlie” became a racial slur against Vietnamese people during the time, and that’s why the film based on a popular children’s novel was called Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and not Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
