Perhaps Shakespeare’s most famous line, from As You Like It. DOOM flips it cleverly here — if all the world is a stage, there ought to be a trapdoor somewhere (common on stages, for actors to make rapid exits). And the escape underground from a world of pretend is an especially appropriate metaphor for DOOM, an “underground” artist.
